“SERELLAN LLC RELEASES FIRST PRE-ALPHA SCREENSHOTS FROM KICKSTARTER-FUNDED TACTICAL SHOOTER, TAKEDOWN”
September 25th, 2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Serellan LLC, the Bothell, WA based indie developer studio headed up by industry veteran Christian Allen, released the first screenshots of their work-in-progress realistic tactical shooter, TAKEDOWN. Designed as the spiritual successor to games like the original Rainbow Six and SWAT series, TAKEDOWN gained it’s initial funding in a successful Kickstarter campaign in April.
“We are excited to release to the public the first images of our work-in progress prototype level, the Biolab.” said Allen. “The team has been working hard over the past few months to bring this game to fruition, and the constant feedback and support of our fans has been overwhelming. One of the benefits of being an indie developer is that we can give our fans and the public a very early window into the development of the game, much earlier than you would see in a traditional game development cycle.”
TAKEDOWN, which is being developed in Unreal Engine 3, is targeted for release in 2013 for PC, with a follow up on consoles.
ABOUT SERELLAN LLC
Serellan LLC is an indie games studio located in Bothell, WA, focusing on tactical shooters. Headed by industry vet Christian Allen, whose credits include the award-winning Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Halo: Reach, Serellan is made up of teammates with experience at companies including Ubisoft, Red Storm Entertainment, Microsoft, Bungie, Day 1 Studios, and Zipper Interactive. Serellan’s current project is TAKEDOWN, a realistic squad-based tactical CQB shooter that was one of the first major game projects to be funded on Kickstarter.
A thinking-person’s shooter. The player that takes things slow, aims carefully, and plans their moves right will overcome the player who runs in with guns blazing. Close-quarters battle brings the fight inside, as you would see SWAT teams or SOF units taking down small numbers of dangerous adversaries. Non-linear environments allow for multiple routes and tactics and add replayability. The operation to clear pirates from a hijacked oil tanker by Russian special forces in May of 2010 is a perfect example of the types of missions in TAKEDOWN.
