Indie Game HQ: Can you tell us a little bit about Serellan?
Christian: Serellan LLC was a company I founded after leaving Warner Bros. Games late last year. Originally, the company was formed for the consulting work I do with the convergence in movies and games, but we started getting emails from tactical shooter fans asking for us to make a real tac shooter for the community, so we decided to give it a go!
The core team is made up of shooter industry vets, with folks that worked on titles like Halo: Reach, the Ghost Recon series, SWAT3, the SOCOM series, F.E.A.R. 3 and more. We have a great team with tons of experience who are passionate about the vision reviving the hardcore tactical shooter genre.
Indie Game HQ: How long have you been working on TAKEDOWN?
Christian: Real development started in late may, so what you are seeing in the prototype pre-alpha screenshots is the result of about four months of work.
Indie Game HQ: Will the game feature online Co-op or multiplayer?
Christian: That is the plan. We currently have multiplayer and co-op up and running, although we need to do more work to “co-op” proof the mission we are working on for prototype. Being a non-linear, objective based games provides some challenges in setting up co-op correctly on the technical side, but in the end we expect a robust PVP & PVE experience.
Indie Game HQ: How intuitive are the Ais in TAKEDOWN?
Christian: AI is our biggest technical focus, and they still have a long ways to go. Currently we have “hearing” in the game, and they will use tactics like flanking and advancing/retreating, taking cover, and generally wasting you very efficiently.
