“SERELLAN LLC ANNOUNCES KEY FORMER ZIPPER DEVELOPERS JOINING TEAM FOR TAKEDOWN”
June 6th, 2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Serellan LLC, the Bothell, WA based indie developer studio headed up by industry veteran Christian Allen, announced today that two key hires of former Zipper Interactive staff will help ensure the success of its Kickstarter-funded title, TAKEDOWN.
“We are happy to welcome Mark Nicolino and Reed Gonsalves to the TAKEDOWN team, as Senior Artist and Senior Engineer.” said Allen. “Together, they bring over twenty years of shooter experience with them, and combined with our other veterans from Ubisoft, Microsoft, Day 1, and more, we are confident we can execute on the game that our fans are so excited about.”
Mark Nicolino was at Zipper for over 9 years, joining the team after working on the SWAT series at Sierra. He contributed to all of Zipper’s titles as a Senior Artist, including the SOCOM series and Unit 13. Reed Gonsalves is a graduate of Digipen, and has been a Gameplay Engineer on several key Zipper titles.
“While it was sad news when Sony announced the Zipper was closing, we immediately got in touch with many former Zipper folks to talk with them about working on TAKEDOWN. Their experience creating quality shooters on a difficult platform will help us immensely in creating the focused, hardcore, cqb, tactical experience that our fans expect.”
ABOUT SERELLAN LLC
Serellan LLC is an indie games studio located in Bothell, WA, focusing on tactical shooters. Headed by industry vet Christian Allen, whose credits include the award-winning Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Halo: Reach, Serellan is made up of teammates with experience at companies including Ubisoft, Red Storm Entertainment, Microsoft, Bungie, Day 1 Studios, and Zipper Interactive. Serellan’s current project is TAKEDOWN, a realistic squad-based tactical CQB shooter that was one of the first major game projects to be funded on Kickstarter.
A thinking-person’s shooter. The player that takes things slow, aims carefully, and plans their moves right will overcome the player who runs in with guns blazing. Close-quarters battle brings the fight inside, as you would see SWAT teams or SOF units taking down small numbers of dangerous adversaries. Non-linear environments allow for multiple routes and tactics and add replayability. The operation to clear pirates from a hijacked oil tanker by Russian special forces in May of 2010 is a perfect example of the types of missions in TAKEDOWN.
